A gift to an endowment fund is never spent. Instead, it is invested; each year a portion of the earnings is made available to be spent by the institution. The remaining portion of the earnings is returned to the fund to increase the fund’s value and provide for future spending. Over time, the amount of money available will far exceed the value of the donor’s original gift. Since gifts into the fund are never spent, the fund will provide support for the charitable cause forever.</p> tag:www.mountcarmel.org,2005:PageModule/30 2009-06-01T17:53:00Z 2009-08-10T20:12:50Z Since our fund was established in 1990 we have been blessed with many gifts, both large and small, and our fund now stands at just over $600,000.00. Our goal is to build the Endowment Fund each year by $5,000. Individual gifts or estate gifts are the only way to accomplish this goal. The Endowment Fund is always part of our Annual Campaign appeal. A gift to this fund is welcome at any time. Please contact the Development Office
